LGBT+ History Month is celebrated in February in the UK. Each year, The Proud Trust works alongside Schools OUT UK to produce a resource and education pack for LGBT+ History Month, linked to a curriculum area.

The activities in these packs are aimed at KS3/4 and can be used as part of lessons or tutor times, often forming part of LGBT+ History Month displays! We’ve seen many of the activities work well with KS2 students in Rainbow Flag Award schools too.

The packs are free to download from The Proud Trust website.

LGBT+ History Month 2021 – Body, Mind, Spirit (PSHE)

The theme this year of Body, Mind and Spirit has provided much opportunity to explore the complexities of who we are and what we can aspire to be. There is even a chance for young people to design the LGBT+ History Month logo and badge for 2022, taking their own place in LGBT+ history! You can also find versions of each session, written into lesson format, with PowerPoints in The Classroom.

The sessions are:

1   LGBT+ History Month 2022 Badge Design Competition

2   Body: A Barrier to Participation?

    3   Mind: Still I Rise

    4   Spirit: Symbols and Identities

We also recognise that this year, you might be delivering the LGBT+ History Month activities online. As such, the digital activity assets have been provided separately, for you to download and make use of, on your chosen online platform.
